We are not only an
"Old Comrades Association".
We are an Association that promotes equally, its
membership from serving
and Ex Members of
11 Sphinx HQ Battery RA,
and its attached Units.

Membership is by subscription, & is open to All Ranks & Cap Badges who are currently serving with, or who have served in or with 11 (Sphinx) Battery RA.

We are a Non profit making Organization, funds are raised through Annual Subscriptions.

Applications for Association Membership may be requested from the C.E.O.

The Battery was first formed in 1755 as
2 Company, Bombay Artillery of the Honourable East Indian Company.
The Battery went to Egypt in 1801 as part of the Indian contingent in the campaign against Napoleon.
In 1823, For distinguished service in the Egypt Campaign, His Majesty, Governor General authorised the company to wear Egypt & Sphinx on accoutrements.

This award is now commemorated with the Honour Title "Sphinx".
In the year 2000, when our Association was formed,
11 (Sphinx) Battery RA celebrated its 245th Anniversary.

During the last 35 years, 11(Sphinx) Battery has endured the misfortune of having had its Parent Regiment Disbanded on Two occasions.
Those Regiments were 34 Lt AD REGT RA & 22 AD REGT RA.
This led to our pals being more widely spread throughout the other Regiments and Batterys than is normaly expected.

We Aim to provide, through a working committee, contact points,via our Forum & Facebook, where Members can obtain or input information that will benefit the Association & its Members.

We aim to maintain a link between Serving & Ex Members of 11 (Sphinx) Bty RA.
It is our intention to give Members, the opportunity to stay in touch with Serving and Ex Members of
11 (SPHINX) Battery Royal Artillery,and its attached units through this web site/ Forum & Facebook.
